Tyler Comics Mostly Functional.

Tyler comics is now officially mostly functional. I need to set up the archive and I'll be fiddling with the site a bit more, but hey, it is navigable! I'll be using the same blog for news, so y'all don't have to change your bookmarks or anything. :p

I've uploaded all of the Tyler comics up to June 20th. The site is an absolute mess but hopefully I can fix that soon. :P

Tyler Comics and Somewhat Heroic

For those of you that pay attention to Tyler Comics, I have not been updating it. instead I've been working on the page for it, to make it look pretty before the real release. I've got like a dozen finised comics that I need to scan.

It has been brought to my attention that the new batch of Tyler Comics are way better than Somewhat Heroic. That, combined with my inability to work on SH at home, means that I am ending Somewhat Heroic in favor of Tyler comics. The characters will survive in some fashion, because I love them too much. I don't want to end SH, but I fear that I may have to. If I find a way to update it in the future, I will.

So thats it then. Somewhat Heroic is now on an indefinite hiatus. Expect Tyler Comics within a few weeks.

Makeover time!

I have begun serious editing of the SH page. It is damn cool this thing that I am doing. Seriously, you have no idea how excited I am!

I'm working on that site soon as well. I will be working closely with a friend of mine on Tyler Comics, and actually he has made Forrest comics which will be alongside mine. Pretty cool, eh?

The cake is a lie

I told you I wasn't dead! I tell you, I was honestly considering ending the comic. I decided against it though, because I love my characters and I'm just starting to form a fan base! Plus, I've got like six potential plot hooks scattered around. I have more to do with the Russians, Korial's Family, Krystal, etc...

So today I have a presentation to do about Somewhat Heroic. I am sitting in the computer lab at my school right now thinking about exactly it will work. So I think to myself, 'hey, wouldn't it be cool to show everyone my original sprite page?'

Tyler Enz Comics

I have releasing a new comic. It is called Tyler Enz Comics. It is based on true stories and drawn by me except for the text which will be fixed in paint because I write like a gorilla. READ AND ENJOY. UPDATES NEAR DAILY starting next week.

Shadows

I decided to try something new with SH's panels. From now on the panels will all have a drop shadow because it greatly adds to the depth and cool lookingness of the comic.

I really just wanted to make this joke. This is part of SH's 'overarching storyline'... that is, the 'main plot', so to speak. Its like the important thing that happens behind everything else while still being a joke.

Next week, something HUGE and WORLD SHATTERING happens to the characters of Somewhat Heroic! It might be an art change! But it definitely isn't! :)

Mole Men

New comic, blah blah, mole man, storyline...



I finally played through Turok! The whole game is amazing. It gets pretty hard at times, namely the bosses, which is a good thing. Turok bosses have always been intense. Turok actually succeeds in feeling like the first game. While there are no bionisaurs, the raptors spit acid and theres giant effing scorpions. Even little things, like the shapes of the corridors, color of the light, and the film of clouds that moves overhead.

Mama Scarface is one of my favorite bosses of all time. The shotgun is an ace gun.

Online play is pretty good I hear, better in objective based team games. I think you run too fast though, and knifers are just retarded. Guns are way better, but people still insist on pulling those instant kills occasionally.

Sorry that I've been so very slow getting the preview pictures and links up.

This comic is directed directly at somebody who, after bugging us all the time about not playing silkroad, just alchemizes whenever he's logged on. Which is actually all the time.

So... I'm playing Silk Road Online again. I've been leveling my Euro Warrior all week... so far... I've gained like 10%. I'm really bad at grinding and MMOs in general.

This comic is the completely true story of how Euro Wizards are completely haxed and murdering is really fun.

This is also Krystal's first preview pic. Good for her.

Licorice men!

I've been meaning to put the licorice men for a LONG time. They were part of the fantasy adventure storyline I wrote back in 2005. Expect to see them again.

I had to remake the speech bubbles like 3 times because the computer I work on is having issues. I did get updated to llustrator CS3 though, so woot.

Ok so I actually did send myself the file. Sigh. I'm going to start labeling my emails with dates instead of days.

I'm also considering bashing CAD to increase my readerbase, even though my comic is basically CAD itself. :P

UNLOCKED

You know how it is. You completed that mission, you got 5 kills with the needler in one life, you got 100,000 pts in one life... ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED. Wooh, that felt good didn't it?

I hate Achivement Whores. People who buy games purely for the achievements that you get. For those who don't know, achievements are basically 'bragging rights points' that you get piled onto your Xbox Live gamerscore that shows how little of a life you have. They're meant to be just fun little goals to aspire to but some people take it too far.

Somebody actually said to me that you should only get games for achievements. He also said that he needed to get Sneak King.



If you don't know what Sneak King is, count yourself among the blessed.

V-Day

Yeah, woohoo, Valentine's day. It's (probably) cool if you're in a relationship, but if you're single (like me) then its just another day to feel bad. So yeah. I hope you rot.

The orcs are on fire!

Heres the new comic. It's actually a preview for a new comic I'm starting, aptly named 'The Orcs Are On Fire'. Its the story of an army of orcs as they pillage and loot, and I'll be drawing it myself on paper. I've got a few scripts done and they're ok. I like my characters and they are funny especially Piker. Who's Piker? You'll find out. Part two on thursday, and then Somewhat Heroic continues as normal... as normal as SH gets, at least.

Somewhat Heroic has no script and I don't test it for funnyness. Thats why it's so random and the references are so obscure.

Update Delay

The update might be a little late, if it shows up today at all. Theres a really long line to update comics on the FTP right now.

Today I said to myself "I'm going to make this a double update, but I only have one hour. SO I sat down and cranked out two comics in one hour! I was literally snarling and straining at my computer!

Wowsers.

So uh... I played the demo for the new Turok game...

I don't really have much to say. It looks good, but more importantly it feels good. It's a joy to control, and the HUD/lack of HUD works great. You recharge health a lot faster than in Halo, which is good because there are literally raptors around almost every corner.

By the way, my new favorite verb is Turok-stab. :D

No Bionisaurs?

So theres a new Turok game coming out. You have no idea how excited I am. Turok was the first game that my dad got me for my N64 when I was 7 years old. Its one of my favorite games of all time. The other Turok games were more than disappointing. MUCH less. Rage Wars was pretty fun though. I like the inflation gun. When I was 8 years old I always thought that the inflation gun made costs go up. :P

Something New

So guess what I remembered I set up a few months ago? Yes, the archives! You can access them on the link bar on the right. I don't know why theres an entry for December 95th. I can't make it go away, so it's here to stay.

Every time I think of archives I'm reminded of catacombs, and when I think of catacombs I think of Turok, and when I think of Turok I think of how I want to go kill some dinosaurs.
