So About FENRIR

okay so to get to the point FENRIR’s going on a brake. I don’t know how long for but …we’ll see. Yeah I know after only 21 pages. Now that’s not to say I wont still be doing things with FENRIR, but it’ll be more about concept art and one off drawings for a while instead of the actual comic.

The reason for this is that I’ve been struggling to stay on top of it lately. I don’t just mean with the deadline for this chapter being the end of this month, really that was a pretty ambitious deadline from the start taking into account how much work I still had to do on the comic. Unfortunately I’m not someone who can simply just get on with something once I’ve decided to do it. I do admit that I do struggle with things that some other people manage and get on with quite well. Now I can come up with stories quite easily, but making those stories good is another matter as any story teller knows. For me I need to be able to know the world I’m in if I’m making a story that’s as in depth as FENRIR is. This means I need to know the places the characters are in in great detail, what the people are like, where everything is and what the buildings looks like, that sort of thing. I can’t just draw a scene and put in a generic building or scenery that fits, I need to know where the characters are and what’s around them. This isn’t too hard to get on with usually because making entire new worlds is something I enjoy doing but with FENRIR having supposed to have another depth to it so readers can get involved with the comic I needed to be extra accurate with the backgrounds and details. If you’ve read any of the pages from FENRIR you’ll know how… unpractised, I am at backgrounds. There are actually quite a few areas of my artwork skills that really need improving for me to pull off FENRIR the way I want to. Even though I’ve been viewing chapter one as a pilot chapter for a while now I’m just not happy with the standered the comics coming out in.

basically I gave myself too much to do for something I simply don’t yet have the skill to pull off and it’s frustrating me. Rather than risk screwing up my comic, pilot chapter or not, I really feel like I need to improve on some technical areas and understand what I’m doing with this comic properly. I’ll still be making content for FENRIR and doing other things as well while I get to where I need to be for it. I have no idea how long it’ll be until I start work on it again but hopefully not too long because I am still really exited about FENRIR and what I have planned for it.

What I will be doing in the mean time is concept art and one off’s. I’ll start doing my comic strips again as they are easy and fun for me. I’ll be doing some rando artwork from other stories and OC’s of mine. I’m still going to be doing streams and maybe start trying out some of the other idea’s I had. I may even write a couple of short fairy stories as well.  So little bits here and there until I get myself ready for something as tricky as FENRIR.

Sorry and thank you
