Of course many of you who've been reading this comic for years have already checked out the music. However, I wanted it included in the webcomic so that even if I'm passing out the print version of the comic, it will direct people to the album.

Just out of curiosity, I'm trying to think of other cartoon bands, like the Gorillaz or Jem and the Holograms. I know that the Beatles had "Yellow Submarine" and I think there was a band called "The Archies." Are there any other cartoon bands that you can think of that I missed?

Dethklok; the band in Metalocalypse. The creator does in fact tour and they have at least three albums. They started off as dumb parody with excellent musicianship but the music went beyond parody and is as good (or better) as they bands they poke fun at.

I didn't know that they were an actual band. Thanks for letting me know. I've seen the cartoon because I was a fan of Jon Schnepp and I knew he worked on it.

For the first two albums/seasons of the show, creator Brendan Smalls did all the guitar and bass (might have had a studio drummer) but around the time of the second album when he toured, he got a full band. His touring bass player appears on the third album (and later, I presume).

That's so cool! I'd sell half of my liver to get an animated show of Cork and Blotto where we got to release the music as it appeared on the show. Then go out on tour to play it. Maybe some day I'll find Aladdin's bong and I'll get three wishes. ;D
