In other news, I saw The Red Turtle in theatres recently. I liked it quite a lot, and it excites me to think that Studio Ghibli could go another direction (if it can stay profitable enough not to fold). Too many of the various Ghibli directors have produced movies that look and play a lot like Miyazaki movies. Undoubtedly this is in part because Miyazaki tended to make his mark on other directors’ projects.
