Ok, it’s taking a while to get the finishing touches done on the new book so here is a sneak preview of one of the pages. For some reason, the quality looks nicer if you click on the image and see it in it’s own window (even though the image is the same size in both places – at least that’s what happens on my computer) I’d love some comments from visitors to my site. Let me know were you’re from or if you’re planning a family or if you have kids – or just say Hi. 🙂
Hi. I am working on a new book about a kid and hir mums just doing their thing. (Actually my partner has done the text of the new one so it will be better written!) I’ll put a page up on this site one day soon. 🙂
I’ve been thinking about whether it would be worthwhile reformatting the comic into a more typical kids book style thing. I could quite easily reorganise the pages and colour the pictures to make it more like the kind of book you’d normally read to your kids in bed. If you come by the site, let me know what you think. Would it be something you’d consider buying in a shop or are you just as happy to show it to your kids on the computer? Do people read stories to their kids in bed off iPads nowadays?
I’m pretty chuffed that my comic can now be viewed online in Russian. Check it out! It makes it look like gf and I are fluent Russian speakers. I love it.

You have to click on each image twice if you want to see it at a decent size unfortunately.
The site is run by Russian LGBT people. They have a really tough time over there. Their gay pride marches are banned and when they take the risk of running them anyway, people are arrested, mainstream public opinion is not on their side. They are really amazing, strong people. I’m sure they’d love some short messages of support on their site. Some of their site administrators could probably translate the messages if you request it.
Today I attended part of the “How to Tell” Seminar run by the Victorian Assisted Reproductive Treatment Authority, (VARTA) in conjunction with the Donor Conception Support Group and Rainbow Families Council.
It was about telling children of their donor origins. It was a great event. Quite an intimate setting but well attended.
It made me more aware of some of the things my daughter may think and feel as she gets older. There were some wonderful teenagers talking about their experiences, some insights into how donor conceived people sometimes feel about different aspects of their identities, personalities and potentially inherited traits and there was a sperm donor talking about his experiences. When he came out I was quite overwhelmed by seeing a person who represented what our donor had done for us. I felt immense gratitude for what he represented to me.
I recommend it as a worthwhile event and will try and attend the whole thing next time.
